Strengthening Parish Stewardship
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, in collaboration with Emmaus Partners, has completed a comprehensive benchmark study to assess and enhance the effectiveness of parish finance councils. With participation from 68 parishes and 115 leaders, the study revealed key strengths and growth areas. The findings underscore the importance of structured onboarding and ongoing development, governance alignment, and cross-council collaboration to ensure councils are equipped to support pastors in stewarding parish temporal resources.
How can we accomplish this? Phase II of the initiative invites parishes to engage in facilitated sessions to build action plans and share best practices, aiming to elevate finance council performance across the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and beyond.
